Introduction:   The word stress was originally used by Style in 1956 to describe the pressure experienced by a person in response to life demand.

Definition: Stress management is the attempt to cope with negative effects on stress through the reduction of the stress response.

"Stress may also be defined as the non-specific response of the body to demand made upon it."
